CB Forensic Analytical Center
Scientists
and technicians in the CB Forensic Analytical Center analyze hundreds
of relatively routine samples and can produce results within hours or
days. They also conduct highly sophisticated chemical analysis on samples
that may contain unusual materials including chemical and biological warfare
agents.
Staff can analyze a variety of samples including samples taken from buildings being destroyed that might contain hazardous residual materials. Researchers also can provide authoritative analytical results on hazardous materials and processes as required to meet regulatory and environmental requirements. Specialized equipment can be customized to perform field tests on biological material, explosives and chemicals.
ECBC participates in international proficiency tests,
and this facility is one of only two laboratories worldwide to receive
perfect scores on all of the evaluations conducted. In addition, the lab
and our specialized equipment are independently accredited by international
organizations to ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 standards. Further, the center
operates a self contained mobile modular laboratory which allows for on-site
analysis to be performed anywhere worldwide.
