Special Containment Facility

Special Containment Facility provides testing of chemical and biological
threat materials, as well as commercially available materials such as
pesticides or insulation fibers, in a manner that is safe to personnel
and the environment.
The facility contains one of only a few class III containment
cabinets in the world designed for special chemical/biological threat
materials, which allows scientists to generate and characterize aerosols
and vapors of highly toxic materials, assess inhalation toxicology of
high-risk agents and assess performance of equipment such as filters and
detectors with high-risk agents.
